Chris James











Chris started his career in the music industry in 2005 when Radio 1 picked up demos by his band Stateless. An EP deal with Parlophone followed & that led to an album deal with Sony. Jim Abbiss became producer & took the band to the legendary Rockfield studio in Wales to record their debut album, which was then mixed by Barny Barnicott at Mayfair Studios, London.
Jim shared the tracks they had recorded in Wales with the American DJ & record producer DJ Shadow who then asked Chris to sing on & co-write two songs on his 2006 album The Outsider. On the back of this collaboration Chris then joined DJ Shadow’s world tour performing 80 shows across 20 countries.
In addition to his work with Stateless Chris began writing music for TV, Films & Advertising, working for major networks such as Disney+, Film 4, ITV, BBC & Channel 4 whilst producing Ad music for global brands. His song ‘I’m On Fire’ a duet with My Brightest Diamond star Shara Worden was used in True Blood’s trailer, Dragon’s Den’s trailer & also C4’s ‘National Treasure’ with Robbie Coltrane. Chris also composes for music libraries including BMG, Universal, & Audio Network. Chris recently scored the ITV documentary film ‘Return To Lockerbie with Lorraine Kelly’ for BAFTA winning director Leo Burley.
Now working under the artist name Run Rivers, Chris is the lead vocalist & co-writer on a wide range of records for big names including Tinlicker, Joris Delacroix & Andrew Bayer for renowned labels such as Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep, Enhanced & Purified, gaining support from the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Nicky Romero, Ferry Corsten & Tritonal.
